How much mulch/loam do I need?

OR

 

1.) Measure the length and width of your beds in feet.  Multiply length times width to get the area.  L x W = A.

2.) Measure the diameter (maximum width)  of all your circular beds for trees.  Radius = Diameter divided by 2.   

    From highschool math your formula is:

    ∏ R2 = A

    or

    3.14 x R2 = A

 

3.) Add together your total area in square feet.  

4.) One last step, 1 yard of mulch will cover 100 square feet at a depth of 3 inches.
